Hi, I’m Martin and I’m producer, engineer and owner at Cream Room Sound Productions of Cream Room Sound Productions at The Cream Room Recording Studio in Dane End, Herts.
After many years working in Financial Services, I gave up my ‘proper’ job as an IFA to reinvent my life in the music business. Other than a love of music, sporadic attempts to learn how to play an instrument and a short stint as the singer in a very average pub rock band I had no experience and limited knowledge of the inner workings of a recording studio or the music business in general. Over the last few years I have been privileged to work with a wonderful group of talented and creative musicians, engineers and producers – developing and inspiring artists as well as working on various commercial voiceover and music production projects.
In addition, I am continuing to pursue my personal professional development by undertaking a Music Production degree through City & Islington College at the Islington Music Workshop in London. This blog has always been called ‘New Adventures in Hi FI’ and I intend to use the site to document and share my progress, along with the ups and downs of running a business in the music industry in the 21st century.
